The Lay-Z-Spa 60001 is the smallest Bestway tub on this site and the one most likely to suit a first time buyer with a modest patio. Amazon lists four seats, 669 litres of water and 120 AirJets, and the box contents read like a complete kit: liner, heater, filter, ChemConnect dispenser and an inflatable cover. What sets it apart is simply that it keeps the water volume low while staying inside a range with a long UK presence.

In its favour

  • 669 litres is a small volume to heat, so first heat-up uses less energy than bigger tubs.
  • Heater, filter, ChemConnect dispenser and inflatable cover are all listed as included.
  • At 27.5 kg it is light enough for two people to carry and store.

Good to know

  • The listing names a standard liner, not Bestway's tougher Tritech wall.
  • No app control or freeze protection is mentioned.

Our take

What arrives in the box

The single bullet on the listing names the parts: one durable liner, one heater rated for 220 to 240 V, one filter, ChemConnect and one inflatable cover, plus the AirJet system. That is everything needed to inflate, fill and heat the tub, so the only extras to budget for are water treatment chemicals and spare filter cartridges.

ChemConnect is Bestway's chemical dispenser, listed on the Santorini as a diffuser. The 60001 listing does not explain how it works or how it is dosed, so the Bestway manual is the place to check before the first fill.

Size, water volume and weight

The title gives the inflated tub as 180 by 180 cm and 66 cm tall, and the spec sheet labels the shape square. A 66 cm wall is a little lower than the 71 cm of the larger Lay-Z-Spas, which means slightly less depth when seated but also less water to warm. At 669 litres it holds roughly 250 litres less than the six seat Milan, and every litre saved shortens the time the heater needs to bring a fresh fill up to temperature.

Amazon lists the weight as 27.5 kg and the material as PVC. Two adults can carry it to the garden easily, and it will pack away for winter without needing much shed space. The heater runs on a 220 V supply, which in practice means a standard outdoor socket protected by an RCD.

How it sits against other small tubs

In the 2 to 4 person shortlist the Intex PureSpa Chevron Deluxe adds WiFi app control and a foam cover, and the Wave Pacific 4 person builds its heater into the wall. The 60001 has neither of those touches: its pump is a separate unit and the cover is inflatable rather than foam. In exchange, it gives a stated water volume and jet count, which several of the generic tubs nearby leave vague.

Within the Lay-Z-Spa range, the Hawaii HydroJet Pro is the step up if water jets matter, while the Milan AirJet Plus is the move to six seats on the same AirJet principle.

Who should look elsewhere

The listing says nothing about freeze protection, insulated walls or app control. Owners who plan to keep the water hot through January may find a Wave Pacific or a Bestway Santorini a better fit, since both mention frost features. Groups of five or more will also find four seats limiting.

Verdict

Choose the Lay-Z-Spa 60001 if you want a small, light tub from an established brand with the essentials in the box and a modest 669 litres to heat. If remote control from the house matters, the Intex PureSpa Chevron Deluxe is the better small tub, and if you want frost protection built in, look at the Wave Pacific 4 person.
