Intex PureSpa Chevron Deluxe: 4 person with app

The Intex PureSpa Chevron Deluxe is the four person tub for buyers who would rather start the heater from the sofa than walk out in the rain. Intex lists WiFi control through an app on the App Store and Google Play, a high density foam cover, Fiber-Tech internal construction and built-in FastFill inflation. No other small tub on this site combines remote control with a foam cover, and that pairing is the reason to choose it.

Our take

App control and the PTC heater

According to the listing, the app controls all spa functions and can schedule use and maintenance remotely. In practice that means warming the water ahead of an evening soak or running filtration cycles without going outside. The heater is described as a PTC unit that heats the air feeding the bubble jets, which Intex calls heated air bubble technology.

Intex does not give a heater wattage, a water capacity in litres or a jet count. Those gaps make it harder to compare running times with the Lay-Z-Spa 60001, which publishes 669 litres.

Cover, walls and the box contents

The cover uses high density thermal foam and Intex claims it improves energy efficiency by as much as 50 percent. Foam covers generally sit flatter and shed rain better than inflatable ones. Fiber-Tech is Intex's name for the internal fibre beams that keep the wall rigid when inflated.

Amazon lists the contents as the tub, spa cover, ground cloth, carry bag and two filter cartridges. The title also calls it saltwater system ready, though the listing does not say which salt system it pairs with or whether one is included.

Size and handling

The tub measures 175 by 175 by 71 cm and weighs 53.5 kg, close to double the weight of the Lay-Z-Spa 60001. FastFill inflation runs from the control unit at the touch of a button, so there is no separate hose to attach. Plan on two people for moving it.

How it compares

Against the Wave Pacific 4 person, the Intex gains app control and a foam cover but keeps a separate control unit beside the tub. Against the larger MSpa Denver in the premium group, it lacks frost protection and hydro jets but asks for much less space. The listing does not mention freeze protection at all.

Verdict

The Intex PureSpa Chevron Deluxe suits couples or small families who value remote control and a better cover over raw size. If you want stated litres and lighter weight, take the Lay-Z-Spa 60001, and if built-in antifreeze protection is the priority, the Wave Pacific 4 person is the better match.
