The PORTAL pop-up is a general event shelter that names hot tubs among its uses. It is for people who want a quick roof plus walls over a tub, and who like the idea of attaching only the sides they need on a given evening. What sets it apart in this price bracket is the side wall set: two panels with zip doors and two with church-style PVC windows.

Our take
Four walls, any combination
The side panels hang from plastic hooks rather than hook-and-loop strips, which the maker says makes fitting easier. You can put a solid wall on the windward side, a window facing the garden and leave the house side open. For a hot tub, that flexibility is useful: wind is what cools the water fastest, and one or two walls can make a noticeable difference.
The windows let in light when all four sides are fitted, so the space does not feel like a closed tent.
Frame, fabric and height
The frame is powder coated steel with a stated thickness of 0.6 mm and a centre hub that lets one person put it up. Total weight is 19 kg, and a roller bag is included. The polyester canopy has a 1,000 mm hydrostatic head, a silver UV coating rated UPF 50+ and a CPAI-84 flame resistant certificate.
Three height settings are adjustable with push button sliders. The tallest is listed at 206 cm. That clears the top of an inflatable tub easily, but taller adults may need to stoop at the edges when climbing in.
The maker's own warnings
PORTAL is clear that this is a recreational gazebo and not a permanent structure. It also states the fabric is not fully waterproof and that water pooling on the roof can cause collapse. In practice, that means taking it down or at least checking it after heavy rain, rather than leaving it up over the tub for the season.
The 3 by 3 m footprint gives about 50 cm of space around a 206 cm tub on each side. That is workable but tight for steps.
Where it fits in the shortlist
Against the Lay-Z-Spa Gazebo Dome, the PORTAL is smaller and lower but gives you windows and a stated water rating. The All Seasons 2.5 x 2.5 m model claims fully waterproof walls, though its footprint is tighter still. The PORTAL is the more flexible of the three for changing weather.
Verdict
The PORTAL suits owners who put a shelter up for the evening or the weekend and want walls they can mix and match. If you want a canopy sized around a hot tub with more space to move, choose the Lay-Z-Spa Gazebo Dome. If fully waterproof fabric matters more than windows, the All Seasons 2.5 x 2.5 m is the alternative.
